One of the rationales behind professional organizations is service to the industry or community. “Service” is a concept that receives a lot of talk and, typically, not much action. A simple argument is that providing education and an opportunity to network is providing service to our community. We try and facilitate that by keeping our entrance fee minimal and including education at no extra charge.
We are a for-profit business, so there is a balance between “price and value.” We always strive to provide a little more than we take. Whether a fair value, working with the mikeroweWORKS Foundation or our Gold Key of Service award, we balance service with a profit motive.
Occasionally events occur where the typical balance needs to tip toward one side. The wildfires in Hawaii tipped the scale. Shield Wall Media is donating 100% of the Construction Rollforming Show admission fees (received after September 1) and the Garage, Shed & Carport Builder Show in January 2024 to Hawaiian wildfire relief.
I hope you enjoy Cincinnati and our show. Thanks again for your support.
